Don’t you deserve a break today? Recently I tried a Big Mac. I never ever had one before, I know. I liked the special sauce, but the rest was too much bread, too much lettuce and two all beef patties that I think are smaller than the ones in the happy meal burgers! Anyways I just liked the sauce, so I googled and found a few recipes for them. There are some variations (like mayo vs miracle whip). Has anyone ever tried to make them? Here are the two most popular I found.

Big Mac Sauce – Copycat Recipe

1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons French dressing
4 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon finely minced white onions
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt

Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl.

Stir well.

Place sauce in a covered container and refrigerate for several hours, or overnight, so that the flavors blend.

Stir the sauce a couple of times as it chills.

Big Mac Sauce – Recipe 2

1/2 c. creamy French dressing
1 c. Miracle Whip (not mayonnaise)
1/4 c. sweet relish
1 tsp. minced onion
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper

Mix all ingredients together. Blend real well. Spread on hamburger or other meat or fish. Top with shredded lettuce and tomato, if desired.

  1. Our local grocery sells an item called “Burger Toppers” in a squeeze bottle by the mayo section…one of them is the Mac Sauce. We make burgers with it at home with onion, lettuce, pickles and this sauce and it tastes just like a Big Mac only better. Maybe you should look for it. It’s lots easier than making it yourself!
