I have a pretty final draft of my paper to give at the conference this weekend done. I want to try and add a few more things to it, but the problem is I’m pushing 16 double spaced pages as is and I only have twenty minutes. It takes me about 1 minute and 30 seconds to get through a page alone. I may have to cut some stuff, we’ll see. I’ll probably decide that the night before with a practice run, alone in my hotel room.
I decided I’m training it up to the conference, booked the ticket and everything. It may be an all day trip, but I can sleep, I can listen to music, I can play some handheld games or I can choose to read. I should chose to read and work on the dissertation honestly. I’ve been consumed with the conference paper the past week, not that I haven’t gotten tons of new ideas for the dissertation from it. It hasn’t been a total loss.
One thing I have yet to decide is if I will stay at the conference Saturday night. I present Saturday afternoon, the session ends about 4pm. I have a hotel room that night if I need it, or I can abandon my money and just train it home. Honestly I will probably make that decision based on how I feel. I love staying in hotels, but I’ll be mostly on my own in a place where I’d rather not be. I wouldn’t get home till probably 1am Sunday morning, but at least come Sunday I have the day to myself and not stuck on a train traveling all day.
I finally broke down and ordered a new laptop today, deciding to go with HP. Here is hoping nothing bad happens to this one till the new one arrives in about 2 weeks.
That’s about it for today. I’m about to go sit down and read some articles to see if there is anything else I can use in my paper, then I’m hitting the hay. I have a lot to do tomorrow.

I will be sending you LOTS of positive energy this weekend. I love trains…
Travel safely and enjoy your presentation. If it becomes a chore then you’re not enjoying what you are doing. You’re in the BIG TIME now!! professor!!

Ha! and you were worried you wouldn’t be able to fill up your time. You’re going to be great! Have a wonderful time. :0)
Enjoy the conference this weekend. You’re talking about things you know, so that will help with the presentation. It’s great you were able to fill the time and now might have to cut some things. Eliminating things is sometimes better than digging to find something else just to fill the time. You’ll do great and we’ll be looking forward to hearing how it went!
