Okay I knew I would be disappointed with the remake of “When A Stranger Calls” but I didn’t realize I’d lose interest ten minutes into the film and start doing other stuff, like checking email, chatting on the net, etc. . . This movie is so terrible it’s beyond words, and they are making a sequel to it! Save the money on this one, rent the original. You can probably save your money on the sequel and get the original sequel on video too (it was a Showtime production a few years back).
In other movie news, “The DaVinci Code” opens Friday. I am probably the last person in the country who has NOT read this book. It’s sitting on the table in New Jersey, I just don’t have time right now or the desire. I know the story/theory it’s based on. I played a computer game (Gabriel Knight 3) years before with similar themes. I won’t spoil it in case someone else hasn’t read the book and plans to or plans to see the movie. Though since it’s been all over the news, I somehow doubt there is anyone left who doesn’t know what it’s about.
I may be going to see the film next Tuesday (I don’t see myself reading the book before then). It’s going to depend on if my friend J and I feel like going to see it or staying in for the night and watching a DVD. However the uproar from some over this movie is insane! Here in Va there are churches with signs out front condemning this movie, and friends have told me they’ve been told not to see it (a sure way to make people see it!). The local news is running some poll and asking for people to write in on whether they plan to see this “controversial” film. Get a grip people, it’s a MOVIE! From the reports coming out from those who have seen it in previews, it sounds like it is a long and boring movie too.

I havent read the book yet….but Im from canada, so maybe im the only one in Canada then….
Im looking forward to X-men though
Ok,, not only have I not read it,, but I don’t own it! (also in Canada) I think I only know 1 person that has actually read it.(yes,, i have more than 1 friend,, lol) I am looking forward to seeing the movie though,, it looks like the type of film you can just get lost in for a few hours.
I read it and enjoyed it as a fun work of fiction. Too many people take it too seriously. From what I’ve heard and seen, the movie sticks closely to the book. I know the author is pleased with the translation from book to movie. I’m looking forward to seeing it. But you’re right; people are way too worked up over it.
I finally read the book … it was truly amazing!!! Well worth the read … MUCh more entertaining if you can get past the first chapter!!! Its fiction, based on SOME fact… I love it cuz it pisses off the Catholic Church, which, in my opinion, is about as corrupt as it gets!!!!!!
