Right now in Los Angeles the E3 Expo is going on, this is basically a gigantic video game expo that happens once a year where new games are showcased. This year it’s huge because Sony and Nintendo have announced their new consoles, both of which hit stores this fall. I have been reading news on what’s going on all day, and Tech-TV has an E3 special going on right now (which I sadly have to turn off to watch the Bird Flu movie)

Years ago when I ran a Sega Saturn web page I went to the E3 with some friends. It was amazing and great fun. If you live anywhere near the E3 I highly recommend you go. If you like videogames then you’ll have a blast.

I’m such a kid when it comes to videogames, I love them, always have and always will. Sadly I don’t seem to play them as much as I’d like to, but once school is over with I hope things will change. I’ve been trying hard to find an hour here and there in the evenings to play and catch up on all the games I have but have not yet finished.

One thing that I find funny about the games is that the types of games I choose to play and how I choose to play them doesn’t seem to change much. For example, both myself and my brother are playing this Xbox 360 game “Elders Scrolls: Oblivion.” It’s an RPG game and you basically create your own character from an unlimited number of possibilities.

My Brother: What character did you make?
Me: A battlemage, you?
My Brother: A thief

It’s been this way for the two of us with these types of games as long as I can remember, going all the way back to the great “Hero’s Quest/Quest For Glory” series. I was always the wizard, he was always the thief. Neither of us ever choose the Fighter character, whose strength made it easy as pie to get through the game. We always chose the difficult paths.

Aside from the Nintendo DS wifi games, online play is the one thing I have yet to really get into. I’m honestly afraid of doing so, I could so see myself getting addicted to them, especially the online RPGs or Sim-like online games. For those who love them, check out this page!. It’s all the free online gaming you can get.
